411: Putting the "Fun" in Fundamentalism

Oh, that wacky Rev. Fred Phelps. Besides running his Westboro Baptist Church website (ie God Hates Fags), it seems ol' Phelpsy has been making field trips to protest at soldiers funerals, with signs that read "Thank God for Dead Soldiers" and "Thank God for I.E.D.'s"

Why, you might ask, is Phelps and his mighty band of approx. 6 to 20 "Christian" soldiers protesting the funerals of actual soldiers who've given their lives in service of our county? Simple. God is killing our troops to punish the U.S. for condoning homosexuality. Phelps, you might recall, also protested the funeral of Matthew Shepard. Does anyone else think the Rev. might protest too much?

The whole hoopla caused by Freddy Phelps' hate train is that now states are having to enact laws to prevent protests at funerals. A no-brainer if you ask me.

Keep in mind Freddy's Baptist church is not affiliated with the mainstream Baptist church and only consists of around 75 members...most of whom are related to Phelps. That's kind of sad if you ask us. Even Jim Jones and David Koresh recruited more people into their fold. As a truly dynamic religious leader, you kinda suck Fred.

Ironically, Freddy, these proposed laws will keep people from boycotting your burial when you kick it. Which is good, because we bet there are a lot of folks who'd want to spit on your gravewish you well.
