411: Trading Up

operatorLA loves a good gimmick. He also loves creative people who think outside of the box and do wacky things, just because they want to. So it is with much appreciation of his enterprising spirit, that operatorLA introduces you to Kyle MacDonald.

One a whim, Kyle logged onto craig's list last July and entered the barter section. He wanted to see what he could trade his one red paper clip for. A simple idea that has snowballed.

He is currently looking to trade one year's free rent in a duplex in Phoenix. That's right folks, after trading up for less than a year, Mr. MacDonald has received one year's free rent from just a red paper clip. Ingenious. And he isn't stopping there. His goal is to trade until he receives a house of his own.

operatorLA is now inspired to follow in Kyle's footsteps and begin trading up. Ideally, operatorLA would like to receive a new car. He is taking offers on these items:

37 empty bottles of vodka (they are just taking up space under his bed)
a stick of clove gum
a keychain that doubles as a bottle opener
his early twenties (don't worry he doesn't remember them, but reports are that he had alot of fun. ALOT.)
