Call Sheet: "United 93's" Cheyenne Jackson

operatorLA just came across this post at towleroad via the Seattle Times concerning Cheyenne Jackson playing Mark Bingham in Universal's United 93.

Mr. Jackson has been on operatorLA's radar for awhile now. I mean, c'mon, he's tall, got dark hair and light eyes, gorgeous, can sing and is incredibly talented. He isn't Jewish, but he is real close to being put on the husband list. Something else that operatorLA always liked about him was that he was OUT. That's right, Mr. Jackson is (or was) a big ol' homo.

After reading this article and seeing some of the marketing run up to the release of United 93, little attention has been given to the fact that Mark Bingham was gay and even less is being given to the fact that Jackson is gay.

After we had to hear for months about how difficult it must have been for Heath Ledger and Jakey to play gay and how America really couldn't handle the idea of a homo actor playing...well, a homo, operatorLA is surprised no one is picking up on this story.

operatorLA is also surprised that Jackson himself is not mentioning this little detail. One hopes that after years of being OUT in the musical theatre community, he doesn't decide to go IN to make the leap to the silver screen.
