Call Sheet: HBO-no!

Wonkette led us to this fascinating bit of television idiocy. It seems that everyone's favorite cable network "...is developing 'Hotel Palestine,' a half-hour comedy about a group of wartime journalists living in a Baghdad hotel.

WTF? If it's a success, can a spin-off about a group of wacky Haliburton contractors in Iran be far behind?

What the hell, maybe one of the big three networks can get in on this. How about a "Muslims Say the Darndest Things?" or maybe "America's Funniest Bombing Raid Vidoes?"

Seriously, CBS, call us. We'll take the meeting.

Could be great stuff, actually.
Look at All In The Family (greatest sitcom ever in my humble opinion) - "Developing a new comedy about a Queens racist Republican forced to live with his daughter and her liberal husband whom he despises."
Granted, bombs were blowing up in that Bunker. (pun intended)
But still... Comedy does a great job of tackling serious issues, and if HBO handles it right...
