411: Those Crazy Gays

Ah, the Pentagon, once again bolstering the arguement that military intelligence is an oxymoron.

A document has been discovered on the army's policy for discharging soldiers that alleges homosexuality is a "defect" and lumps it in with mental retardation and personality disorders. Never mind that the American Psychiatric Association declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder over thirty years ago.

So, in addition to the ludicrous "don't ask, don't tell" policy, gays and lesbians in the armed forces are basically having their sanity questioned. We've known some crazy 'mo's in our day, but being gay isn't what made them bonkers. Living in this current climate of neo-Puritanical repression, we all go a little mad sometimes. [via Sploid]
