The-Ring-A-Ding: Cops won't Bust, NYFD cause a fuss and Religions gets a C+

Here's another reason operatorLA loves living in California, especially SoCal- things are a tad progressive here. The West Hollywood city council has passed a resolution calling on the Sheriff's department not to prosecute adult users of marijuana. Although you still can't smoke it in public, you might not get hassled so much if you are caught with it. [365 gay]

operatorLA is going to tread a fine line here- Firefighters are amazing people. They put their lives at risk to save others on a daily basis, which is why we find it so strange that they would have a problem playing a gay rugby team. Members of a rugby team made up at least partially of New York City firefighters, including one featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated, refused to play a game against the Gotham Knights gay rugby team after one of the firefighters asked the gay team if they could guarantee that none of their players were HIV-positive. Now we know it can get dirty, bloddy and down right hot in a rugby match but did the gay team ask to make sure all the firefighters were HIV- ? [via OUTsports.com]

And as a follow-up to yesterday's stories, it looks like both the Episcopal and Presbyterian churches will be doing more to be gay inclusive. Although we find these declarations to be more along the line of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", if you ask us. I don't think Jesus would have used ''exercise restraint'' when dealing with anyone!
