Book Chat: Batwoman

In case you missed the news, DC Comics is relaunching the character of Batwoman as a lipstick lesbian crimefighter. The original Batwoman was created as a beard for Batman to dispel those nasty rumors about his improper relationship with his young ward Robin aka Dick Grayson.

Mischa Davenport at the Chicago Sun-Times analyzes the return of the sapphic superhero as well as providing a breakdown of some of the other gay heroes in the realms of comicdom. While some of her implied homo heroes are a bit of a stretch, we're inclined to agree about one of them: Sailor Uranus?! You can't get more gay than that.
