Casting Call: Pfeiffer in Hairspray

Michelle Pfeiffer is the latest actress to sign on to Hairspray, the movie musical based on the Broadway musical based on the movie (oy!). Ms. Pfeiffer will be playing Velma von Tussel--aka Miss Baltimore Crabs--alongside fellow thesps John Travolta, Queen Latifah, and teen queen Amanda Bynes.

Pfeiffer is no stranger to the movie musical, having seductively humped a ladder in the much-maligned Grease 2 and humped a piano in The Fabulous Baker Boys. No telling what she'll mount for this production.
