Call Sheet: The Night Listener

Reviews are in for "The Night Listener," the big screen adaptation of Armistead (Tales of the City) Maupin's novel of the same name.

Robin Williams, he of the hairiest forearms in showbiz, plays radio host Gabriel Noone. Having recently separated from his boyfriend (hottie Bobby Canavale), Noone becomes fascinated with one of his fans, a young boy with a tragic past; but questions about the boy's identity start to surface, leading him on a hunt for the truth.

Based on actual events in Maupin's life, the film has a doubly eerie resonance in light of the recent JT Leroy literary hoax.

The always engaging Toni Colette plays the boy's guardian, while Rory Culkin plays Pete, the young boy.

We're bumping up "The Night Listener" to the top of our ever increasing list of movies to see this summer.
