Curtain Call: Wigstock 2007 Cancelled

If you were planning on attending this year's dragapalooza in Thompkins Square Park you better re-pack your glitter and false eyelashes, because Wigstock isn't happening . Lady Bunny announced on her website that she and her producing partner Scott Lifshutz are talking a year off for undisclosed reasons (start the rumor mill now).

After ending its legendary run on the Pier, a streamlined version of Wistock was resurrected as part of the lineup of the Howl Festival, a celebration of East Village arts and artists. Howl is still going on as planned, but without Bunny and her coterie of drag luminaries (read: retarded drunks).

We're dismayed at the news, as we'd just picked out a new pair of stilettos to go with our teal unitard;now the outfit, wig, and makeup are going back into the cedar chest. We can only hope like a junkie in search of a fix, Wigstock teeters back into the park in 2008.
