The Ring-A-Ding: Bush Includes The Gays, Aussie Judges Says "Come Out To Stay," GOP Driving Their Bases Away

Finally, operatorLA has only waited 6 and a half years, but President Bush has signed a law that we can't say is all that bad. Not only does the federal Pension Protection Act provide an easier way for the majority of Americans to save for their retirement, but the Act also includes language granting same-sex couples equal financial protections. Ah, Australia. operatorLA has never been "Down Under" but always pictures it as a gay wonderland. Maybe he watched Priscilla one too many times, but he imagines the beaches to be almost like native gay environment where queers frolic hand in hand and make sweet Aussie love under the Outback moon. Anyway- The most high-profile gay judge in Australia has called on all homosexual people to come out of the closet and fight homophobia. He is saying what we have have been screaming all along, the best way to gain equal rights is to be equal yourself. If everyone lived their lives openly, more people would be introduced to our community and we would gain more support. [via Pink News UK]

The GOP is going down and not in the good way. If all political indications are right (and keep praying that they are), it looks like the mid-term elections could be a huge defeat for the Republican Party. We are not talking a few loses here or there, we are talking a massive blood bath. Now polls and reports are coming in that the GOP is even losing steam amongst its base, you know those silly NASCAR Dads and Soccer Moms. [via towleroad]
