The Ring-A-Ding:Pig Convicted of Rape, Ex-Gays Think Cross-Dressing is Great, Barkley May Be in The Race

It's slant rhyme day here at the Ring-A-Ding.

A veteran San Antonio police officer is facing life in prison for the 2005 rape of a transsexual woman he had forced into his cruiser during a routine traffic stop. We love that the cop did not receive any special treatment but we can't help but think about how the whole episode began. "Do you have anything hidden on your person?" [via 365 gay]

National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuals Scientific Advisory Committee member Joseph Berger said on a blog in reaction to a San Francisco Chronicle article on gender identity issues, "I suggest, indeed, letting children who wish go to school in clothes of the opposite sex - but not counseling other children to not tease them or hurt their feelings." See Berger thinks the teasing and taunting will make the child want ot not be who they are. The Operator thinks it's a great idea too. Now these children will grow up knowing that they have to be proud of themselves and how to pick a bigot out of a crowd at ten paces. [via Pink News UK]

Charles Barkley was his usual outspoken self during a recent television interview in which he said, among other things, that he advocates gay marriage, believes Republicans have screwed up the country and is "struggling with my idea of what religion is." It seems that Barkley may be considering a run as the Democratic candidate for Governor of Alabama. No joke here, we simply like men who aren't afraid to speak out. [via 365 gay]
