Wiretap: Levi Kreis

operatorLa was lucky to catch Levi Kreis in concert earlier this year. Kreis' s performance was dynamic, powerful and moving. Having never heard any of his music before, Levi made an instant convert of operatorLA that very night.

Levi is a southern boy who moved to LA a few years back. His southern heritage and gay sensibility can be heard all over his latest record, One of The Ones. With a heavy R & B influence, this album let's Kreis's sensitivity, soulfulness, songwriting and vocal power shine through. Though the album is a bit sedate, perfect for lounging around, eating dinner to, or listening to when you are feeling a tad melancholy, it is in live performance where Levi truly comes to life. His energy doesn't drop and he creates a a rapport with the audience that makes them hang on every word he says or sings.
