Wiretap: Joan As Police Woman

We are totally in love with Joan Wasser, who performs under the moniker Joan As Police Woman. As a sidewoman, Wasser has supported artists like Rufus Wainwright, Adam Green, The Scissor Sisters, and she's one of Antony's Johnsons. This indie rock goddess and violin phenom first made a name for herself with the Dambuilders and also played with Those Bastard Souls. She was also Jeff Buckley's girlfriend at the time of his tragic and somewhat mysterious death.

As great as she is playing with more well known artists, she's a dynamic frontwoman in her own right. With her band,consisting of Ben Perowsky on drums, percussion, backing vocals, and sound production; and Rainy Orteca on bass, and backing vocals; she's been tearing up Europe to support her new album Real Life.
