Wiretap: Liza's Chemical Romance

In one of the most eyebrow-raising album cameos in recent memory, Liza Minnelli lends her vocal prowess to the track "Mama" off My Chemical Romance's latest album The Black Parade. The track is pure theatrical bombast, and Ms. Minnelli's no stranger to romancing chemicals herself (booze, pills, cocaine etc.) so it's not as weird a collaboration as you'd might imagine. Though we don't wonder if this might be a harbinger of things to come, with aging theatre divas lending some Broadway cred to the rock gods of the MySpace generation. Can a Carol Channing/Good Charlotte pairing be far behind?
