House Call: The Doctor is Gay

File this post under: We aren't surprised!

It seems that Neil Patrick Harris, famous for playing the young doctor Doogie Howser, admitted his homosexuality to People magazine's website.

Mr Harris said, "[I] am quite proud to say that I am a very content gay man living my life to the fullest."

However, earlier in the week Neil's publicist, referring to internet statements that the actor was in a homosexual relationship, released this statement:

"He's [Harris] not of that persuasion."

Well, there seems to be some confusion in the Harris camp about this issue. But we took a harder look at the internet statement that caused this whole ruccus and we think we figured it all out. Here is the statement that appeared on Canada.com:

"Nepotism is alive and well in Hollywood. Former Doogie Howser star Neil Patrick Harris, 33, recently got his longtime sweetheart David Burtka, 31, a guest role on his series How I Met Your Mother (airing Wednesday nights on CH). Burtka is an experienced theatre actor (he played opposite Bernadette Peters in Gypsy on Broadway and starred in the touring company of Beauty and the Beast) but also had small parts on episodes of The West Wing and Crossing Jordan."

As we all know, Nepostism is the act of securing jobs for your friends and family even if they are not qualified to hold them. We don't think Harris' publicist was referring to the gay aspect of the story when he used the word persuasion, we think he was referring to the nepotism part. When he said he was not of that persuasion, he must have meant Republican. They are notorious for nepotism.
