411: The Equality Ride

Sponsored by Soulforce, The Equality Ride is taking 33 young LGBT activists on a nationwide tour of college campuses with policies that call for ejecting openly gay and lesbian students.

operatorLA loves political activism and these young LGBTQ riders deserve all the support and recognition that they can get. Being OUT is itself an act of activism in today's political climate, but taking our community's experiences and stories to places where it is not accepted is an act of bravery. The Equality Riders are not only facing hatred, discrimination and intimidation but many are being arrested in the process.

At the equality Ride website you can read personal stories, get information and view pictures as their bus moves across the country. The Advocate Magazine is also presenting a series of personal stories written by riders on the bus.
