DisConnected Rant: Yo Momma

A whole show that's nothing but trash talkin'? This is why OperatorNYC doesn't watch television anymore! But when an operative informed us that there was a show on MTV called Yo Momma, we had to put on our research pants and do some googling. And we know this has been blogged to death already, but like we said, we don't watch television.
The whole show is the brainchild of Vilmer "I fucked Lindsay Lohan and Mandy Moore" Valderrama in a bid for Kutcher-like fame on MTV. He told Parade Magazine:
"I created a new reality show for MTV," he said. "You ever see the movie 8 Mile? I created an 8 Mile with laughs. It's a competition called Yo Mama. We go to cities around L.A. and get a bunch of kids at random and let them talk smack—you know: 'Yo mama's this, yo mama's that...' The funniest, the most creative of them will battle it out before a live audience. We need a new generation of reality shows. That's the idea here."

Wilmer, do you really want this as your legacy? Isn't there enough divisiveness in our urban communities? Wouldn't you rather be a uniter, not a divider?

As for your concept, this "new generation of reality shows" of which you speak? Seriously, Wilmer, not even in the worst comedy club on the worst open mic night would an audience be subjected to that much "yo momma"-ing.

Once again, MTV, you've raised the level of cultural discourse for the youth of this nation.
