Party Line: Stick It this Weekend
Stick It opens in theatres this weekend. It's guaranteed to do for gymnastics what Bring it On did for cheerleading, while luring the much-coveted teenage boy demographic to the movies. Like they say in the film, it's "leotarded." We can't wait!
If you want something more highbrow, check out the retrospective of recent Oscar-Winner Robert Altman at the Museum of the Moving Image. Altman will be fielding questions after a screening of Kansas City this Saturday. The retrospective continues through June.
Saturday is the big march for Peace, Justice and Democracy down Broadway. If you're a racist or a misogynist or a homophobe (read: Republican) then you'll want to avoid lower Manhattan at all costs.
Sunday you can catch a matinee of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest at BAM, starring Lynn Redgrave.
