911: Holy Hell

First, The Operator wants to thank Towleroad for this post because we would not have seen it otherwise. We know the internet is a bit incestuous and stories get shared but we hate it when credit is not given where credit is due. With all that being said:

OMG! as if operatorLA needed more of a reason to hate the Christian Conservative movement in this country, now they have training tools video games:

"Imagine: you are a foot soldier in a paramilitary group whose purpose is to remake America as a Christian theocracy, and establish its worldly vision of the dominion of Christ over all aspects of life. You are issued high-tech military weaponry, and instructed to engage the infidel on the streets of New York City. You are on a mission - both a religious mission and a military mission -- to convert or kill Catholics, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, gays, and anyone who advocates the separation of church and state - especially moderate, mainstream Christians. Your mission is 'to conduct physical and spiritual warfare'; all who resist must be taken out with extreme prejudice. You have never felt so powerful, so driven by a purpose: you are 13 years old. You are playing a real-time strategy video game whose creators are linked to the empire of mega-church pastor Rick Warren, best selling author of The Purpose Driven Life."

That is how one person described Left Behind: Eternal forces, y'all. Read the full article here.

Where are the good video games based on the Bible, like a first person action adeventure where you help Jesus feed the masses with ten fish or make sure he can walk on water? Garner enough "life" points and you can see the Resurrection cinema and the end of the game!

Reports about the game -- especially the article to which you site -- have been very inaccurate. The game does not have the player try to establish a theocracy or kill people who don't convert. In fact, you are penalized for killing people, even though Christian forces are fighting against the anti-Christ's army.

See more about the nature of the game, with quotes from secular reviewers who have actually played it:
