ReCall: Democracy in Action Weekend

Man, you'd think people just aren't happy lately with all the demonstrations going on.

Saturday saw the March for Peace, justice & Democracy in Manhattan, with Cindy Sheehan and Susan Sarandon lending support to the cause(s).

Sunday was the rally in Washington to address the genocide in Darfur. George Clooney was there, using his "credit card" of celebrity to get people to pay attention.

Rush Limbaugh was charged with the crime of Doctor shopping, which will be dropped after eighteen months.

And finally, the U. S. Supreme Court ruled unanimously in favor of Anna Nicole Smith, overturning the appeals court ruling and allowing her the chance to claim a little piece of the millions left behind by her husband. God Bless America.

May Day. Boycotts, marches and demonstrations are being held across the country today as part of "A Day Without Immigrants," to raise awareness of the contribution of immigrants to American life.
