The Ring-A-Ding:LA gets no funding, WA could make money, NY thinks "Don't Ask" is not funny and KS wants you to say "No, honey!"
Usually we have to search for our government's subtle but undeniable efforts to discriminate against the queers. However, now they are just spelling it out in Legislation. LA gets no funding for its GLBT center. Guess Rep.King just doesn't like the smog. [via PageOne Q]
Washington State's Supreme Court is still preparing its ruling on Same-Sex Marriages. But while the wait goes on a new study shows that if same-sex marriage became legal Washington would gain $3.9 million to $5.7 million annually. WA could also save money from health programs and offer government services if same-sex marriage is passed. How is this bad for anyone? [via 365 Gay]
New York State recently passed a resolution calling for an end to the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy. The resolution, introduced by New York State Senator Thomas Duane, calls on New York's Congressional Delegation to support the Military Readiness Enhancement Act, a bill that would repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." Maybe we could just get rid of the whole middle section of America. Seems like the people on the coast are better! Yeah I said it! [via pink news]
The Kansas State Board of Education is directing schools across the state to offer abstinence in sex education classes beginning in the fall, stopping just short of ordering schools to require the classes. Wow, what a great idea! Why hasn't anyone thought of this before- oh that's right they did and IT DOESN'T WORK. [via 365 Gay]
