DisConnect: Janeane Garofalo

Tonight marks Janeane's last broadcast on Air America's The Majority Report. Ms. Garofalo was one of the original "stars" of the liberal radio network and a bit of a lightning rod for right-wing hate. The show will continue with Sam Seder, who co-hosted with Janeane and wrote the excellent F.U.B.A.R.: America's Right-Wing Nightmare. Unfortunately, tensions between her and Seder and her lengthy absences due to work on The West Wing pulled her away from the show.

We have to confess, we've totally been JG fans since the early mid-nineties. She totally shaped our ironic, sarcastic worldview. We're also impressed that she's not afraid to put her political views front and center, despite criticism from the corporate media shills.

Judging by her last few shows, it seems like she's happy to be out of the daily radio grind.

*Sniff. We'll miss your liberal rage and pack-a-day voice. One last time: Peaches, Janeane.
