The Ring-A-Ding:Lesbian Wins as Part Of Political Swell, Cadet Challenges "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", Swimmers Hear Olympic Committee Death Knell


GLBT political candidates are making great advances in unexpected parts of the country. Jolie Justus won the Democratic primary for Missouri's District 10 state senate seat Tuesday. The district is heavily Democratic, so odds are that Justus will be the winner of the race. [via The Advocate]

Not everyone in the military is in agreement about the "DADT" policy. Alexander Raggio, a cadet at West Point, was recently honored for his senior thesis which argued that the military's policy banning gays is not only wrong, but also harmful to the Army. The tide is turning, slowly, but the younger generation is starting to see the light. [via 365 Gay]

Gays face discrimination all the time, and now comes another story of the Institution holding us back. What is so wrong with a bunch of queer men donning brightly colored speedos and swimming caps to swim in intricate formations choreographed to music?
