411: Join the AV Club
You know by now The Operator has a profound love of old educational films, so we were freaking out when we found out about The AV Geeks from Bedazzled.
"The AV Geeks maintain an archive of over 18,000 16mm educational and industrial films. They show the films across the U.S. and make films available on DVD and online."
The films cover everything from the evils of drugs, to morals, to good dental hygiene, even the miracle of menstruation.
It was hard to choose which educational delight to impart unto you, but since we're The Operator, we thought we'd go with "Telezonia," where a cast of multicultural adolescent moppets learn the art of using that most newfangled of contraptions, the telephone. According to the Geeks:
"This Sid and Marty Krofft-influenced film describes the mechanics of using the telephone, speaking and listening techniques, dealing with emergencies and displaying good manners with songs and goofy costumes. This film was made during a time when kids being kidnapped by a man in tights was magical and not creepy."
