The Ring-A-Ding: Anchor is A Queer, Governor Will Appear and Protestors Have No Fear
MMM. So it is not Anderson Cooper, but CNN's Thomas Roberts has come out of the closet. Yummy! operatorLA is happy to report that another queer has taken the steps to come forward and be open about his sexuality in the media. operatorLA would also like to remind Roberts that he likes his news in-depth and hard-hitting. Do you remember that high-profile "gay American" James McGreevey, former NJ governor.? Well, like any good queer who is outed in a public forum, McGreevey has written a book about his life and the experience of stepping down as Governor after his homosexuality became an issue. And also like any good Queer in his position, his first stop on his book tour- The Oprah Winfrey Show. [via The Advocate]
Thank God for those among us who have the time and where-with-all to continue protesting in our name. Lots of youngins have taken up the crusade and are protesting against the military's Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy. Most recently, three people protesting against "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", the law preventing gays from serving openly in the military were arrested Tuesday in Shreveport, Louisiana. These kids are working with one of our new favorite organizations, Soulforce, to protest discriminatory policies against the GLBT community. [ via 365 gay]
