Wiretap: Scissor Sisters Squeeze Out a Pop Diamond

Ever vigilant on our Sicissor Sisters watch, we bring you some tidbits from their recent interview with Out magazine, courtesy of towleroad:

Jake Shears dispels rumors he was suicidal; he was just really freakin' depressed (Sorry Jake). He reveals that his best friend Mary, for whom he wrote the eponymous song, passed away while they were working on the new album.

As for making the pressure of writing the new record Ta-Dah and trying to avoid the sophomore slump, Babydaddy says “Somehow we found moments of forgetting and something positive in the struggle. Those moments made this album.”
According to Out: "[Babydaddy] marvels that early reviews have described the album as a dancey party album because 'the process wasn’t a party. A lot of it was finding the light at the end of the tunnel.' The result of all that pressure is a pop diamond."
